Membership Options

ARFA offers both Full (ordinary) and Associate Membership to companies and individuals who participate in and support the purposes of the association.

Benefits of Full Membership

Full Membership is available to any company that manufactures and/or imports and distributes resilient flooring and wallcoverings to the Australian market and that supports the purposes of the Association. Benefits are:
  • Full voting member entitlements and opportunity to stand for election to the Executive Committee
  • Direct influence and representation in industry advocacy efforts
  • Participation in Standards committees and ARFA Technical Committee
  • Participation in industry data collection and access to aggregated data reports
  • Representation of interests in the Australian Flooring Industry Alliance and development of new industry training initiatives
  • Association membership of the Vinyl Council of Australia for access to Best Practice PVC accreditation and the PVC Stewardship Program, vinyl news monitoring and industry advocacy
  • Engagement in the Vinyl Industry Recycling Strategy
  • Networking opportunities with peers in the resilient flooring industry and the broader vinyl value chain
  • Company logo on ARFA website 
  • Use of the ARFA logo with the statement "Member"

Associate Membership

Associate membership is available to an individual or company that supports the purposes of the Association; and supplies accessories or services to, and/or consults to the resilient floor covering industry. Contact us for full details on eligibility for individuals.
Benefits include:
  • Participation in sub-committees, subject to Executive Committee approval
  • Attendance at member meetings with an observer status
  • Opportunity to sponsor ARFA events, promote to and network with industry
  • Listing as an ARFA Associate Member for business leads and referrals if appropriate 
  • Use of ARFA supporter logo

Member Code of Conduct

The Australian Resilient Flooring Association aims to be the recognised voice of a growing resilient floor and wall covering industry and its members’ products will be the product of choice to the consumer. ARFA expects its member companies and their staff to act ethically and fairly in the conduct of business. We promote freedom of expression and open communication. However, it is a condition of membership of ARFA that Members comply with this Code and ensure that their staff comply with this Code.

Social & Environmental Obligations

  • To implement practices that encourage sustainability such as product stewardship, responsible sourcing and supply chain transparency
  • To maintain a strong focus on occupational health and safety for the protection and well-being of staff, customers and the general public and to comply with relevant State and Federal laws
  • To respect relevant environmental and labour laws
  • To maintain and implement a documented consumer complaints procedure to address and resolve issues with a customer

Technical Obligations

  • To provide products and services that comply with / exceed applicable Australian or relevant international Standards and any applicable minimum performance requirements of the National Construction Code
  • To continue to develop specialised knowledge and practical skills and to show support for industry training and development
  • To only undertake activities that the company has the competency to perform and, when in doubt, obtain suitable advice and support that will allow these activities to be proficiently undertaken
  • To have a procedure to address product defects promptly and effectively

Behavioural obligations

  • To undertake all engagements with honesty, integrity and responsibility and conduct one’s self in a manner that is not derogatory towards others in the value chain
  • To engage in conduct which is not prejudicial, harsh or reprehensible
  • To respect laws relating to intellectual property, information privacy and copyright
  • To comply not only with the law, but with the industry standards of conduct such as prescribed in this Code
  • To take accountability for any transgression of the Code
  • To promote an effectual, reasonable and ethical building and construction industry and to engage constructively with other industry bodies whose activities align with ARFA’s objectives
  • To promote actively the industry and the strategic intent of ARFA
  • To not knowingly engage or cooperate in collusive tendering, misleading and deceptive conduct, the practice of resale price maintenance or third-line forcing
  • To participate in ARFA’s collection of industry data and maintain the confidentiality of supplied market data reports
