ResiLoop is an initiative of ARFA and is an active product stewardship scheme designed to address the challenges of managing resilient flooring waste in Australia. It provides a practical and governed , industry-led pathway for the collection and recycling of offcuts and end-of-life materials from past, current and future consumption.

DRIVING A CIRCULARITY MINDSET
Resilient flooring in Australia contributes an estimated 60,000 tonnes of waste each year to landfill, 9,000 tonnes of which has never even been walked on! ResiLoop is being designed as part of the local industry's pathway to a circular economy, by tackling this waste issue, starting with waste generated during the installation process. The initiative has been engaging participants across the resilient flooring supply chain, has undertaken research, business modelling and conducted recycling and reverse logistics field trials to test and refine various approaches in both residential and commercial sectors. This work informed the design and development of a national scheme that demonstrates a strong product stewardship approach in Australia. |

RESILOOP'S OBJECTIVES
- To enable increasing recovery and recycling of resilient floorcoverings in Australia at scale with the participation of a majority of product distributors and flooring installers.
- To build onshore recycling capacity by researching and developing new end applications for the recyclate, encouraging investment and employment in the recycling sector, and supplying recyclate to local manufacturers to reduce virgin material consumption.
