Not happy with how your resilient floor has been laid?

ARFA suggests taking the following steps if you are unhappy with the installation of a floor covering:

1. Contact the installing contractor/retailer to request an inspection and that they address your concerns.
   
2. Contact the supplier/distributor or on-seller of the flooring to request an inspection and that they address your concerns.
   
3. Contact the manufacturer of the product if it is concluded through steps 1 & 2 the flooring may be defective. Request an inspection and that they address your concerns.
   
4. Independent expert inspection can be undertaken, however it can be expensive. ARFA can suggest some possible inspectors if you wish to have an expert opinion; however ARFA does not endorse any independent inspection consultants or providers of consulting services and our referral in no way constitutes an endorsement of their services.
   
5. Failing a satisfactory outcome from these steps, if this relates to a residential installation, you can contact your State’s Fair Trading/Consumer Affairs body for further advice.
   

Note: The above process should establish the following:

• Has the material been installed in accordance with the relevant Australian Resilient Standard (AS1884: 2012) or the manufacturer's installation instructions?
  
• Is the flooring defective?
